THE BASICS

PokéSurvivor controls: keyboard, touch and pause

Move, switch and pause. The keys you actually need, on desktop and mobile.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Move with WASD or arrow keys. Select the active move with 1–4, or cycle with Q/E. Esc pauses in solo play. On mobile, use landscape orientation, drag to move and tap a move icon to switch attacks.

Why do my other attacks seem inactive?

This is not a game where every equipped attack fires at once by default. You choose the active move. Bonds can combine attacks in a linked slot; that is a separate system, not a reason to expect all slots to fire.

Before entering a crowd, practise switching between two attacks. An icon change is easier to spot in a quiet area than during a boss fight.

If the keyboard seems unresponsive

  1. When using embedded play, click inside the game so it receives keyboard focus.
  2. Close any open menu or level-up selection that is waiting for your choice.
  3. Try the official game in its own tab. Browser extensions and embedded focus can affect input.
  4. On a phone, turn the device sideways and use touch controls rather than expecting a desktop keyboard overlay.

Pause is different in co-op

The game’s pause screen explicitly warns that a group game continues while the menu is open. Move somewhere safer before opening settings, and coordinate with teammates rather than treating Esc as a team-wide pause.
